Alkuser See - underwater archaeology

In 2006 SANDY AIR got commissioned by the University of Innsbruck, Department of Archaeology to scan the Alkuser See in Osttirol/Austria, located at an altitude of 7979 ft for items of historic value.

Two years later, in the fall of 2008, SANDY AIR was back at the lake with a towed camera system and recorded the entire lake bottom. During the operation Wolfgang Falch and his students from the Department of Archaeology discovered unknown underwater vegetation at the deepest point of the lake at 138ft.
